Caution! This post might be a little too "dirty" for some readers!

So I was pondering what I could blog about today... and realized... that I haven't told the world yet that our BIG boy Sammy is finally.... POTTY TRAINED.  Poop and all (not to be blunt)!
We are soo proud of him!

I guess it all finally clicked in his brain after a family home evening we had at the beginning of January.  We talked about setting goals and decided to make a list of some things we thought we wanted or needed to work on through out the year.   With a little prompting from mom and dad, Sam's list consisted of:

Going potty in the toilet
Going poopy in the toilet
Trying to keep his undies and bed dry
Listening better to mom and dad
and
Sharing with his brother and sister

The VERY next day he said... "Mom my bum hurts."  I was like "Huh, that's weird... do you need to go poopy?"  And he said, "Yes!"  The answer caught me by surprise... usually he says no, unless he has already gone in his pants.  (I had also never heard him use the phrase "my bum hurts" in reference to going poop).  Needless to say, we RAN to the toilet and he went potty AND poop!  When he was done I told him "Good job!  You did it!  I'm so proud of you Sam!!" and he said "Ya, that was one of my goals and I was working on my goal!"  I laughed, "Wow, you were actually listening?" (I thought).  Through out the next week, he went poop in the toilet like 10 more times in a row and made reference to it being one of his goals every single time!  Best part yet... he has NEVER gone in his underwear since!  It is a miracle!!!

No more disgusting (bring you to tears) find, like this one...

I cried for like 20 minutes before I made him help me clean it up...  (There were 2 stairwells of this, by the way).  And the worst part was, 10 minutes before this happened, I went upstairs to change his diaper and he threw a big tantrum.  So I said "Fine!"  And went back downstairs.  He screamed and cried for me to "COME BACK!!" as he "scooted" down the stairs one by one...  (If only!!)

Ha, ha ha, the joys of motherhood!

Oh yeah... and "No more of this?..."
Only for a couple years, and then I'll be cleaning up 2 trails of poop!!!

Heaven help us!
